Dr. Blanas received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Toronto, Faculty of Dentistry in 1996. Upon graduation he completed a one-year Dental Internship at the Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in Toronto. He received his diploma in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Anesthesia in 2001 from the University of Toronto, Faculty of Dentistry.

Dr. Blanas is a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada. He is part of the teaching faculty of the undergraduate dental programme and the graduate Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery programme at The University of Toronto. Dr Blanas is on active surgical and teaching staff in the Department of Dentistry at the Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. He practices the full scope of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery with special interest in reconstructive surgery.
